MOUNTAIN BIKING: Elijiah Bristow State Park

← OR MIDDLE FORK WILLAMETTE RIVER JASPER Single Tracks →

Description

Within the park itself there are about 10 miles of trails. Some is singletrack, some is wide, groomed pathway. This network of trails is ideal for the beginner in that there are no long or steep hills, and it is technically easy. Having said that, it's still a fun place to ride for people of all skill levels due to the abundant wildlife present there, and the beautiful scenery and wading beaches.<br />
At the east end of the park along the river there is a trail that runs 3 miles upstream ending just below the Dexter Reservior. Follow the dirt road to the right, then the paved road through one of Oregon's premier disc golf courses to arrive at the Dexter Dam Park--a nice facility with a swimming dock, and bathrooms.

Directions

Take Hwy. 58 east from Eugene about 9.5 miles. Past Pleasant Hill, turn left on Rattlesnake Road N. and follow signs to this no-fee state park (Or, go a little further to Wheeler Rd. near the gas station on Hwy.58). Stop to see map of trail sytem near park entrance.
